About Us Learn about our non-profit

The Eagles Mere Historic Village, Inc. (EMHVI), was formed in October of 2003 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. A small board of directors comprised of individuals with a love of Eagles Mere banded together with a mission dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of many of the commercial buildings and structures located in the Village center including:

  • aferro.art Studio & Gallery
  • Ataraxia Construction & Reclaimed Wood Furniture
  • Eagles Mere Bookstore
  • EM Country Store
  • Eagles Mere Museum
  • The General Store Building
  • The Casual Zebra
  • Robin Real Estate
  • The Sweet Shop

The Sweet Shop

Some of the historic structures in Eagles Mere have been in existence for 150 years, such as the Sweet Shop which has served ice cream and other delicious edibles to the community since the late 1800s. In 2021, the Sweet Shop underwent a large-scale restoration which will allow it to better serve the community for many years to come.

This is just one such building that the board has worked tirelessly to maintain fully realizing that each has come to define the “downtown” area of our little haven and as such, need to be preserved. Annual fundraisers in the form of the Antiques Fair held in early July and the Arts & Crafts Festival in August help pay for much of the necessary upkeep, as do generous contributions from board members and the townspeople of Eagles Mere, PA.
