Home to bald eagles and fed by underground natural springs, Eagles Mere Lake has always been the center of life on the mountaintop. Swimmers, sunbathers, sailors, canoeists and fishermen have all found the lake a source of many great memories. Surrounding the lake is The Laurel Path: a path cut out of the woods in the 1800's and maintained every year to this day.
