Dr. J. Horace McFarland was a well-known publisher, botanist, writer, preservationist, printer,
photographer and President of the American Planning and Civic Association. The Smithsonian
referred to him as "One of The Most Famous Man you’ve never heard of". Luckily, he became
one of Eagles Mere’s most notable summer residents printing many of our early Eagles Mere
brochures which often included many of his photographs. Join us July 22 at 7:00 in the DeWire
Center for a presentation by Barbara James and enjoy viewing this unique collection of his
pictures in and around Eagles Mere. All are welcome with a $5 donation.
