Event Details
Created by Tom Smith a London sweet maker, to celebrate Christmas between 1845-1850 in the UK. Legend says that one night, while he was sitting in front of his log fire, he became very interested in the sparks and cracks coming from the fire. Suddenly, he thought what a fun idea it would be if his sweets and toys could be opened with a crack when their fancy wrappers were pulled in half. Make your own July 4th version of this Victorian cracker. While making your red, white, and blue cracker learn a little bit of Eagles Mere’s history regarding our July 4th parade. The first one you make is free, but you are welcome to make more for only a $1 donation each. We’re sure everyone at your picnic table will want one.
